Calvin Harris took to Twitter on Friday to confirm that he and British singer Rita Ora had called it quits on their relationship.

Harris, who found himself the subject of tabloid fodder last week after getting snapped heading in and out of clubs with women other than Ora, decided it was time to put the rumors and speculation to rest. In response to the gossip, he admitted that he and Ora and broken up in a tweet in which he praised his former girlfriend.

Neither Harris nor Ora have revealed the reason for their split, though it’s been reported that Justin Bieber could have come between the two. Apparently, Ora and Bieber were noticeably affectionate towards one another while working on a song together in the recording studio, according to TMZ. Their touchy-feely behavior supposedly got back to Harris, who wasn’t amused with their antics.

Distance also could have been a factor in the break-up between the pop singer and famed DJ. Just last month, Ora admitted that having a long-distance relationship takes its toll. "You have to fly each other out, you just have to. Sometimes you fly for 20 hours, sometimes you only fly for five hours,” she told The Mirror. “It's an effort, but you make it work."

"I'm not a fan of long distance relationships," Ora continued. "If you had a choice, you want that person with you. It makes me pretty sad. But you work with what you've got."

Harris and Ora began dating in May 2013. They were last seen together at a taping of Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live back in April.
