Bruce Jenner is not planning on getting a sex change, according to his estranged wife Kris Jenner.

Kris Jenner has heard the rumors before, dating back decades. “[It’s] a story they keep regurgitating from the ‘70s,” she said during her Today show appearance on Thursday. In the interview she echoed Bruce Jenner’s denials that he’s ever considered gender-reassignment surgery, while also admitting that her "best friend" needs to ditch his new ponytail.

Common in gender-reassignment operations for a man transitioning to physically become a woman, is a surgery to have the Adam’s apple flattened. When it was revealed that Bruce Jenner was looking into the operation, the rumors heated up.

The former Olympic athlete, who has postponed the laryngeal shave, also planned to undergo plastic surgery to make his nose smaller. “I just don’t like my trachea,” he explained to TMZ. The nose job is apparently to eliminate scar tissue from surgery the reality TV star had to remove skin cancer.

Kris and Bruce Jenner announced that they were heading for divorce after 22 years of marriage in October 2013. Since then, Kris Jenner has been linked to a number of potential suitors, include former Bachelor contestant Ben Flajnik. Bruce Jenner has yet to be linked with anyone.
