Bradley Cooper opened up about living with his mother and the loss of his father in an interview with Details magazine.

Cooper's mother moved into his home in Los Angeles following the death of his father two years ago. In the five months preceding his father's passing, Cooper had moved in with his parents in Philadelphia. "My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us," he told Details. "It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped. And we need each other. So here we are."

"She's a cool chick," Cooper quipped to the magazine, referring to his roommate mother. "We can hang. And she can roll with the punches. If that wasn't the case, there's no way."

The 38-year-old actor is quick to point out that although he might be an A-list actor these days, he doesn't have a separate wing of his home for his mother. "It's not like I live in a compound and she's in the guesthouse," he admitted. "No. She's in the next room."

"We're surviving. Both of us," Cooper added, before candidly stating, "Let's face it; It's probably not easy for her, by the way, to be living with her son. It's life."

Cooper is coming off a career-changing year after his Oscar-nominated performance in Silver LInings Playbook opposite Jennifer Lawrence, and his recent turn as a police officer in Place Beyond the Pines. He'll next appear in the third installment of the popular Hangover franchise – The Hangover Part 3.
