‘Barbie’ Star Margot Robbie Expecting First Child With Husband Tom Ackerley

Oscar-nominee Margot Robbie is expecting her first child with husband Tom Ackerley.

The 34-year-old Barbie star was spotted displaying a visible baby bump while vacationing in Lake Como, Italy. Photographs published by tabloids on Sunday showed Robbie wearing a white crop top that revealed her growing midsection as she boarded a boat with Ackerley.

Robbie and Ackerley, who met in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama Suite Française, married in a private ceremony in Robbie’s native Australia in 2016. The couple has since collaborated professionally, co-producing several projects through their production company, LuckyCap Entertainment.

In a 2018 interview with Porter, Robbie hinted at her desire for a large family, saying, “If I’m looking into my future 30 years from now, I want to see a big Christmas dinner with tons of kids there.” However, she emphasized that starting a family was not an immediate priority at the time.

The actress has been open about her relationship with Ackerley, describing their connection to Vogue in 2016. “I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back,'” Robbie said. “And then it happened, and I was like, ‘Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.'”

Despite her high-profile career, Robbie has maintained a relatively private personal life. She recently praised Ackerley’s down-to-earth nature at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, referring to him as a “normie” in Hollywood circles.

“I am so lucky,” Robbie told E! News. “He likes being behind the camera. He’s not fazed by any of this stuff.”

The couple’s impending parenthood marks a new chapter in their relationship, coming more than seven years after their wedding.
