The actresses Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino had one of the most memorable appearances when they took the stage together to present the Outstanding Ensemble Performance In A Comedy Series award Sunday night.

LISA KUDROW NEWS

The pair, who starred in the iconic 1997 comedy film Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion, lovingly referred to these two beloved characters with pink and blue pantsuits that match their outfits in the movie. After some banter with Kudrow, Sorvino then pulled some post-it notes out of her pockets, in reference to a hilarious running joke in the film, where her character falsely told her ex-high school classmates she invented post-it notes.

Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion wasn’t as immediately popular as other comedy movies at the time like Clueless, but the slightly off-kilter performances by Sorvino and Kudrow and the general strange tone of the film have led to it becoming a well-loved cult classic that has had a lasting appeal.

Both actresses have histories with the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards. Kudrow was nominated several times as a solo performer and ensemble member for her role in Friends, winning one solo performance award and another as part of the ensemble. Sorvino was SAG nominated for her role in 1995’s Mighty Aphrodite, a performance for which she won an Oscar as well.
