‘The Bachelorette’ Star Tyler Gwozdz Dies At 29 Of Apparent Drug Overdose
Tyler Gwozdz, a former contestant on The Bachelorette, has died at the age of 29. Evidence suggests that Gwozdz, a resident of Boca Raton, Florida, may have died of a drug overdose. Authorities told the Palm Beach Post, a local newspaper from where Gwozdz lives, that they were involved in an ongoing investigation of the case. The newspaper also obtained the audio of a 911 call the night the former reality show contestant died. An unknown woman, who identifies herself as a friend of Gwozdz, states that he had suffered a drug overdose in her bathroom. The dispatcher asked her if she could reach Gwozdz, but she said that the bathroom door was locked.
Tyler Gwozdz Cause Of Death
The dispatcher asked the unknown woman what Gwozdz overdosed on. “Heroin,” she replied. The dispatcher then asked if there was Narcan available on the premises. Narcan, a brand name for the drug Naloxone, is used to block the effects of narcotics and is often used in drug overdoes situations. During the call, the unknown woman broke through the bathroom door. She can be heard on the recorded 911 call begging Gwozdz to, “please wake up.” The dispatcher then asked the woman to position Gwozdz on his back and to tilt his head back to check if he was able to breathe. The call ends soon after emergency services arrive.
The producers of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette broke the news of Gwozdz death to Bachelor Nation, an official website about the show. According to a post on the website, Gwozdz was studying psychology, working to obtain his PhD. “We are heartbroken to hear the tragic news of Tyler’s passing today. Our thoughts are with the Gwozdz family and his friends,” the producers said in a statement to the website.
Gwozdz was perhaps best known for his mysteriously short time on The Bachelorette. After a one-on-one date with then-bachelorette Hannah Brown, Gwozdz was removed from the show without explanation.
