Bruce Willis Celebrates Thanksgiving With His Daughters Amid Dementia Battle
Bruce Willis’ daughters, Tallulah and Scout, shared photos from their Thanksgiving with their father on Nov. 28.
In the post, the girls flanked a seated Willis, who showed off a “Best Dad Ever” plaque. The caption read, “grateful.”
Willis shares his daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, with his ex-wife Demi Moore, and his other two daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, with his wife Emma Heming Willis.
In March 2022, the family shared that Willis had been diagnosed with aphasia and in February 2023, Emma confirmed that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The degenerative disease primarily affects communication and behavior instead of memory, like other types of dementia. Willis has rarely been seen, much less appeared in photos, in the last two years.
Willis and Emma have been married for over 16 years.
Asked about her dad’s condition in September, Tallulah shared with Today, “He’s is stable, which, in this situation is good and is hard. There’s painful days, but there’s so much love.”
She continued, “It’s really shown me to not take any moment for granted, and I really do think that we’d be best friends…I think he’s very proud of me. You have to be in the moment. You have to be present.”
In October at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival, Moore said, “You know, I’ve said this before: The disease is what the disease is. And I think you had to be in a real deep acceptance of what that is.”
She continued, “What I always encourage is to just meet them where they’re at…When you’re holding on to what was, I think it’s a losing game…but when you show up to meet them where they’re at, there is a great beauty and sweetness.”
Tallulah was recently honored at the Autism Speaks Gala after revealing her adult autism diagnosis.
