Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Release Photos Of Son Archie’s Christening
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released photos from their child’s christening.
The private ceremony was held on Saturday at Windsor Castle, and fashion photographer Chris Allerton took photos.
The first photo was published on the royals’ Instagram account. It shows baby Archie with his parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, along with other members of the royal family: Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, and Camilla. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and Princess Diana’s sisters are also featured in the photo.
The second photo was introduced to the public on Twitter. It shows a black-and-white photo of the Duke and Duchess with their son, taken in the rose garden where the ceremony took place.

The Duke and Duchess were criticized for not allowing the press or public to witness any elements of the ceremony and for keeping the identity of the godparents a secret. Royal biographer Penny Junor has called the couple’s decision to exclude the press and public a mistake.
Royal watchers speculated that the godparents could be Genevieve Hills and Lindsay Roth, two close friends of the Duchess from her university days. They were all spotted together at Wimbledon on Thursday.
There is also speculation that Markle’s best friend, Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney, could be a godparent, while Harry’s old schoolmates, Thomas and Charlie van Straubenzee, may have also been chosen.
Archie wore a gown that was a handmade replica made by Angela Kelly, dressmaker to the Queen.
The Queen did not attend the christening, due to a prior engagement.
