PAUL MCCARTNEY & RINGO STARR REUNITE IN RECORDING STUDIO
Starr tweeted out photos of the old friends, thanking McCartney for helping him. Starr is currently working on his follow-up album to 2015’s Postcards From Paradise, in which McCartney will be featured on bass guitar. The pair last collaborated on Starr’s 2010 LP Y Not, with McCartney singing on “Walk With You” and playing bass on “Peace Dream.”
“Thanks for coming over man and playing the great Bass,” tweeted Starr. “I love you man peace and love.” Just days before the recording session, the pair was spotted out to dinner with Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, alongside Tom Hanks and Dave Grohl.
“The way I’ve been working over the last several years is that I do sort of a rhythm-pattern synth track. And then I play drums and go, ‘Oh, there’s a verse. Oh, that sounds like a chorus,'” Starr said during an interview. “And then I call writers in and say, ‘Let’s write something to that!'”
“And look out Joe W. came out to play what a day I’m having peace and love,” Starr captioned under a photo of the three rockers in the studio.
