“Blurred Lines” singer Robin Thicke has been accused by ex-wife Paula Patton of spanking and punching their six-year-old son Julian.

ROBIN THICKE ACCUSED OF CHILD ABUSE

Patton did not let Thicke see his son after Julian’s school called Child Protective Services because the boy told them that his father “punches” him hard. Thicke has denied these claims, saying he has “never exceeded age-appropriate discipline.”

During a previous investigation, Child Protective Services did not find him guilty of any wrongdoing to the child. “On a very rare occasion and only as a last resort, I will use light spanking, but it is consistent with the law – open hand on the butt,” Thicke explained. “This is the type of discipline to which Paula and I agreed during our marriage.”

Patton and Thicke split in 2014 and share a joint custody agreement for Julian, according to which Thicke gets Julian for three overnights a week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Patton, however, says that her son is “scared of [his father],” has become “very tense” and has even developed a bit of a “slight stutter.” She also claims that Thicke one day turned up intoxicated at 8:30 am and was “hooting and hollering and making inappropriate jokes” in church. He also allegedly smoked marijuana in front of his son and their nanny.

Thicke believes that Patton is only bringing these allegations now because the Thicke family did not allow her to attend the funeral of his father, Alan Thicke in late 2016. “It is my belief that Paula holds residual anger towards me because I and my family would not permit her or her family to attend the funeral of my father on December 20, 2016”, he said in court papers. “Paula did not have a positive relationship with my father. As such, she was not welcome at his funeral. It is my belief that Paula only wanted to attend because it would have resulted in additional public exposure for her.”
