Selena Gomez launched the Citi Concert Series on the Today plaza Monday morning to perform songs off her new album, Revival.

Selena Gomez On ‘Today’

Gomez took to the stage at Rockefeller Center and sang “Good for You” and “Same Old Love,” as well as a medley featuring her hit “Come & Get it” and “Me & the Rhythm.”

In between songs, Today co-host Matt Lauer asked Gomez about the recent revelation that she’s been battling Lupus for years. Though the former Disney star admitted that she still wasn’t too comfortable talking about the health issue, she did say that it helped her connect with her fans.

“I feel I’m able to reach my fans and understand people when I am one-on-one with them, and they’re kind of dealing with the same thing,” she told Today. “So I’m just trying to take something that maybe is negative and turn it into a positive.”

Inside the studio, Gomez had a lengthier interview with Willie Geist, Tamron Hall and Natalie Morales. At one point the conversation turned towards Gomez’s friendship with Taylor Swift and their “squad” of high-profile pals.

“It’s so good that that’s actually becoming something,” she said, referring to the squad moment. “There’s just been so much – especially with women in this industry just being pinned against other women, mainly men as well. We are our own people. I think it’s incredible that it’s actually a thing now because we do show up together. We love each other.”
