Nicki Minaj And Beyoncé Debut “Feeling Myself” Video Exclusively On Tidal
Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé dropped the music video for their newest collaboration, “Felling Myself,” exclusively on Tidal, the new streaming music company started by Jay Z.
Nicki Minaj And Beyoncé Drop “Feeling Myself” Video
The video, which was released on Monday, May 18, features Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj hanging out, eating burger, lounging by a pool, enjoying Coachella and being generally #FLAWLESS and glamorous. While the entire video is only available to Tidal subscribers – the minimum cost of which is about $10 per month – Jay Z’s struggling company also released a teaser for the video on YouTube to help drum up publicity, and the song is available for purchase as part of Minaj’s album, The Pinkprint.
Jay Z launched Tidal in March with an army of major artists by his side, including Madonna, Rihanna and Daft Punk, and the service has not been the hit he envisioned. The site streams music and videos, boasting exclusive content and “editorials,” but the main point is that it’s an artist-owned streaming service. Jay Z boasted that it would “change the course of history.”
Tidal has previously been home to an exclusive original song from Beyoncé, “Die With You,” which she released on her 7-year anniversary with Jay Z, but that stunt failed to bring in a high number of subscribers. This video, of Minaj and Beyoncé joining forces, could very well be the catalyst Tidal is looking for, as fans have already announced they bought a subscription simply to watch the full video.
Of course, other fans were furious that Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Jay Z were forcing them to pay money to subscribe to Tidal, which is relatively pricey for a subscription streaming service.
As a small consolation to those who don’t want to pay for Tidal to watch the video, here’s Maya Rudolph doing her best Beyoncé while delivering her Tulane commencement speech:
