Madonna was asked about whether or not she’d read Fifty Shades of Grey, which was adapted into a movie that hit theaters this weekend, while talking to Billboard. “Yes, I have,” the singer admitted. It’s pulp fiction. It’s not very sexy, maybe for someone who has never had sex before.”
“I kept waiting for something exciting and crazy to happen in that red room thing, and I was like, ‘Hmm, a lot of spanking,'” she continued, adding of 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey, “I also thought, ‘This is so unrealistic because no guy goes down on a girl that much.’ I’m sorry, but no one eats p—y as much as the guy in that book.”
Back in 1992, Madonna published a book titled Sex, which featured photographs of the pop icon in sexual situations. Asked whether her views on sex have changed over the years, Madonna said, “Absolutely not. Nope,” adding, “Sex is a wonderful, necessary part of life.”
Fifty Shades of Grey was brought to the big screen by British director Sam Taylor-Johnson. Jamie Dornan stars as the eponymous Grey, while Dakota Johnson plays the object of his desire, college student Anastasia Steele.
Fifty Shades of Grey is currently in wide release.
