Scott Eastwood Cast In Nicholas Sparks 'The Longest Ride' Movie Adaptation
Scott Eastwood has been tapped to star in the most recent Nicholas Sparks adaptation for his 2013 novel The Longest Ride.
Scott Eastwood Lands Role In 'The Longest Ride'
For Eastwood, 28, the son of Clint Eastwood, The Longest Ride will be his first major studio gig in a leading role. He’ll play Luke Collins in the movie, a young man who falls in love with a college student named Sophia Danko, reported Deadline. Their love story will unfold as a local 91-year-old man looks back on falling for his wife while he’s trapped in a car crash.
Previous adaptations of Sparks' books include A Walk To Remember, The Notebook, Safe Haven and Dear John.
Eastwood personally announced his great casting news through Instagram, posting a picture of himself holding the best-seller with the caption, “Great book. Thanks Fox for this amazing opportunity!! #thelongestride #nicholassparks.”
Eastwood has previously appeared in minor roles in a few of his father’s films, including Flags of Our Fathers and Gran Torino. He currently has a number of movies in post-production, including David Ayer’s Fury, which also stars Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Shia LeBeou and Michael Pena.
The Longest Ride is slated for an April 2015 release
