Chet Hanks, the son of acting icon Tom Hanks and singer Rita Wilson, will join the upcoming season of The Surreal Life, a show which MTV rebooted last year.

The original show began airing on WB in 2003 then moved to VH1 for the third season before MTV renewed the show after 16 years.

Later this month, Hanks, 33, who was recently inspired to get a tattoo by his recent conversion to Christianity, will be in Colombia with other celebrities to film the series.

He will be joined by Zim Zolciak, Jose Canseco, Macy Gray, Ally Brooke, O.T. Genasis and Johnny Weir.

This is Hanks’ first reality TV stint.
