The self-proclaimed “black sheep” of the Hanks family, Chet Hanks, the son of Tom Hanks, has found himself in the public’s eye again.

While on the set of the Eric André Show, Eric André claimed the younger Hanks was engaging in dangerous and reckless behavior that could have injured everyone involved.

“He is… emotionally disturbed,” André said. “He stole a motorcycle and rode it around. He almost knocked a bunch of grips and gaffers off their ladders. It was very dangerous. He tried to prank us, but we edited out all his bull—t! He’s not well. How did Colin Hanks come out so good and Chet Hanks come out so bad?”

The Empire actor has had his fair share of negative news press, including domestic violence accusations, cultural appropriation accusations, property damage and drug abuse.

In 2014, he was admitted to rehab for cocaine addiction and became sober in 2018. He unfortunately relapsed but has been sober since 2021.

Tom Hanks said Chet suffered from not having a proper male role model.
