Who Will Be The Next Bachelor?
Now that Bachelorette Emily Maynard has made her choice in the form of previous Bachelorette contestant and entrepreneur Jef Holm and ABC's newest season of Bachelor Pad has almost run its course, everyone's buzzing about who will be the next Bachelor on the new season, and, while the network isn't talking yet, one thing's for sure — U.S. Olympic swimmer and gold medalist Ryan Lochte, 28, is out of the running.
"We honestly briefly considered him," said a source for the Bachelor after Lochte made what seemed to be a genuine appeal to be on the show, adding that, at this time in his career, he is ready to "settle down." The producers took the suggesting under advisement, "but we are going elsewhere," they recently revealed, reports E! Online. "It's really down to Arie [Luyendyk, pictured below] and Sean [Lowe, pictured above]," the insiders said, also mentioning that they expect a decision to come down the line "soon."
Both Arie and Sean are from Maynard's season of the Bachelorette, and they both stole the hearts of women all over America — Arie with his smouldering, race car driver, bad boy looks but heart of gold and Sean with his flannel shirts and boy-next door attitude but sexy smile … and biceps.
It's not all bad news for Lochte, however. Not only did he rack up five medals at London's 2012 Summer Olympic games — two of them gold — but he's even getting something of a chance to live out his television dreams as E! News' special correspondent covering Fashion Week in New York City, and with upcoming guest spots on the CW's 90210 and 30 Rock.
If Lochte's looking for love, it's also being rumored that he may also get a chance to be on Giuliana and Bill Rancic's new NBC reality show, Ready for Love.
