Reese Witherspoon announced her son’s first single “Long Run” on both her Instagram and TikTok. Her son Deacon Phillippe is 16 years-old and collaborated with Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt to create his new song.

Witherspoon shared a small clip of the song on Instagram and wrote, “New Song of the Summer! #LongRun So proud of my son @deaconphillippe… his first single with the incredibly talented @ninanesbitt is out now! 💫 It’s the perfect summer bop with a sick beat and dope drops (is that what the kids say 🤗?!) check it out! link in my stories 🎶 ❤️” Witherspoon also shared this message on Twitter, encouraging others to go listen to it by linking out to the song on Spotify.

On TikTok, Witherspoon is sitting next to her son while listening to the song. In the video she said excitedly to her son that she should make a TikTok dance. Phillippe then acted embarrassed telling his mom to “stop.” Witherspoon captioned the video, “When your kid has his first single out! @deaconmusic @🎶💫 #longrun @ninanesbitt.”

Witherspoon had Phillippe with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe after having their daughter Ava Phillippe. The couple got married in 1999, but were then divorced in 2007. Witherspoon has been married to Jim Toth, who is a talent agent, since 2011. Witherspoon and Toth have a seven year–old son named Tennessee James Toth.
