Viewers loyal to ABC's Dancing With The Stars know that quite often the judges' scores and the television audience's results don't exactly line up, especially early on in the season when the loyal fans of lower scorers feel galvanized to save them, and those with mediocre performances get lost in the fray. That was the case Tuesday night when Kristin Cavallari, of MTV's The Hills fame, was sent packing along with her pro dancing partner Mark Ballas. Chaz Bono, who, along with his dancing partner Lacey Schwimmer, received one of the lowest scores on Monday night's live dance-off, was deemed safe right away at the beginning of Tuesday's episode.

Cavallari was none too pleased at the news, which must have come as quite a shock to the reality TV starlet. "I’m a little surprised, to be honest," she told host Tom Bergeron, amidst murmurs of disappointment from the audience."I was really proud of Kristin," Ballas said. "She had great potential and she absolutely killed it last night. I'm honored to be her partner."

Those who were hanging on by a string were Hope Solo and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Carson Kressley and partner Anna Trebunskaya, though Dancing With The Stars likes to keep things mysterious by offering that these aren't necessarily the bottom two. Nine contestants are still in the running, including David Arquette, Nancy Grace, Ricki Lake and Rob Kardashian.

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays and Tuesdays on ABC. Watch a clip from last night's episode here:
