Tom Hiddleston Denies Taylor Swift Romance Is ‘Publicity Stunt,’ Says They’re ‘Very Happy’

Tom Hiddleston has squashed rumors that his well-publicized relationship with Taylor Swift is a publicity stunt.

Hiddleston, 35, found out Thursday that he has been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his work in The Night Manager. While doing the press rounds to express his gratitude for the honor, Hiddleston was predictably asked about his relationship with Swift. Though he’d chosen to not comment earlier in the week, he’s now opening up to set the rumors straight.

When asked about the perception that his relationship with Swift – which has been photographed across the United States, through Europe and now in Australia – is a publicity stunt, Hiddleston laughed at the idea. “Well, um. How best to put this? That notion is — look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy. Thanks for asking. That’s the truth,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “He then said definitely: “It’s not a publicity stunt.”

“We are together and we’re very happy,” Hiddleston reiterated during an interview with MTV News.

Also speaking out about “Hiddleswift” is Victoria’s Secret Angel Martha Hunt, who is a close friend of Swift’s who happened to be at her celeb-filled Fourth of July celebrations in Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

“I love that they’re both happy and free together,” Hunt told People magazine. “It’s amazing, I’m all about people being happy in love.”
