Tiffany Haddish and Common have broken up after more than a year of dating. They became friends on the set of the 2019 movie The Kitchen. Fans started to speculate that they were in a relationship in April 2020 when they were in quarantine together. They went on a virtual date through Bumble in the same month and took to each other right away.

Haddish confirmed they were dating in August 2020 on the Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast. In December 2020, Haddish mentioned that she was going to be spending the holidays without Common. She would be spending time with her grandmother while Common went to Florida. Haddish said that she appreciated that Common would give her the space she needed and allow her to grow. For his part, Common believed that his relationship with Haddish allowed him to develop into the person he was meant to be. He said that he felt that throughout his relationship with Haddish, he learned to love himself more and tell her what he wanted from their bond.

Their split reportedly happened due to distance and both of them being too busy right now for a serious relationship.

While they were still together, Haddish mentioned that if Common wanted to marry her, instead of a ring, she’d like an apartment building. She wanted the two of them to stay friends first and foremost and didn’t seem to want to live with Common.

Haddish was married before to William Stewart, and the two parted ways in 2013. Common has never been never married, but he shares a child, Omoye Lynn, with his ex Kim Jones. Right now, Haddish is busy these days. She is filming Haunted Mansion in Atlanta for Disney. And her TV series The Afterparty is going to be released on Apple TV+ early next year.

The comedian revealed earlier this year that she rejected an invitation to host the Grammys because they refused to pay her.
