The View's Sherri Shepherd Gets Married
When The View co-host Sherri Shepherd married television writer Lamar Sally on Saturday, her 6-year-old son Jeffrey walked her down the aisle. The ceremony took place at the Fairmont Millennium Park in Shepherd’s hometown of Chicago.
It's the second marriage for Shepherd, 44, who announced her engagement on the air in December. She was married to comedian Jeff Tarpley from 2001 to 2009. Shepherd's bridal party of eight bridesmaids included View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, actress Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) and Dancing with the Stars contestant Niecy Nash.
Shepherd was not the only View co-host tying the knot this weekend. Comedienne Joy Behar, 68, wed her boyfriend of 29 years Steve Janowitz on Friday in New York City. Behar, who also hosts the nightly Joy Behar Show on HLN, had sworn off marriage after her first ended in divorce. She was engaged to Janowitz in 2009, but broke it off before walking down the aisle.
The View returns for its 15th season on September 6. A behind-the-scenes special about Shepherd's nuptials, “Wedding Fabulous: Sherri Shepherd Gets Married,” will air on The Style Network on September 13.
