Ted Cruz Visits Jimmy Kimmel, Says He Might Run Over Donald Trump In A Car

On the Wednesday night episode of Jimmy Kimmel‘s late night show, presidential candidate Ted Cruz stopped by to discuss politics, acting and mean tweets.

TED CRUZ ON ‘JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE’

The Texas senator joked about running over the opposing candidate Donald Trump with his car when Kimmel opened up his show with an April Fool’s prank of putting scary images in people’s back up cameras.

“Donald is a unique individual,” Cruz said when Kimmel asked if he dislikes President Barack Obama or Trump more. “If I were in my car getting ready to reverse, and saw Donald in the backup camera, I’m not confident which pedal I’d push.”

In his opening monologue, Kimmel said that Cruz had studied at Princeton and at Harvard Law but “he didn’t have the grades to get into Trump University and it caused a rift between them that continues to this day.”

Cruz also mentioned that while studying law around Los Angeles he wanted to dabble in acting. “Everything was great except I didn’t have good looks and I didn’t have talent,” Cruz quipped.

This was the senator’s first time on the late night show. He spent most of his week in Wisconsin raising money to put towards his presidential campaign, before making the pit stop in LA.

“We pretty much consider Hollywood our base,” the conservative Texan joked about the dubious amount of money in the area.

The senator didn’t read any “mean Tweets” on air but Kimmel did say that he’s widely hated, pointing out that Sen. Lindsey Graham, who now supports him, only a few weeks ago joked that if Cruz were murdered, no jury of fellow senators would convict anyone.

“When you stand up to Washington they don’t like it… but Donald Trump has an amazing ability to clarify everything,” Cruz said

The two also took some time to discuss the recent health care reform with Cruz calling it a “disaster” and stated U.S. law enforcement must do all it can to protect the country from radicalization. The ABC late-night host quickly retorted the statement and said that no one he knows has ever complained which promoted Cruz to state that Kimmel surrounds himself with millionaires. Kimmel hit back with explaining those aren’t the only people he surrounds himself with.

Cruz added, “I have never done one of those round tables where at least half the small-business owners didn’t list Obamacare as the single biggest challenge they’re facing.”
