Tallulah Willis, Bruce Willis’ Daughter, Offers Update On Her Father’s Dementia Battle

Bruce Willis’ daughter, Tallulah, has given an update on her father health amid his dementia battle. 

“He is the same, which I think in this regard I’ve learned is the best thing you can ask for,” Tallulah said on The Drew Barrymore Show. 

The actor’s family announced that Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia, which affects how one communicates in 2022. A year later, the actor’s condition progressed into frontotemporal dementia or FTD.

According to Tallulah, the family wanted to raise awareness about the disease.

“On one hand it’s who we are as a family, but also, it’s really important for us to spread awareness about FTD. If we can take something that we’re struggling with as a family to help other people, to turn it around to make something beautiful about it, that’s really special for us.”

Tallulah also explained that she decided to become “an archeologist to my dad’s world” by archiving his “little trinkets and doodads.”

She also said she and Bruce spend a​​ lot of time together listening to music.

“I see love when I’m with him. And it’s my dad, and he loves me, which is really special,” Tallulah said of her father. 

According to the Mayo Clinic, Bruce’s condition FTD is an “umbrella term for a group of brain disorders that primarily affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These areas of the brain are generally associated with personality, behavior and language.”

Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis, recently said that it is “hard to know” if the actor understands that he has dementia.
