The latest trailer to stake its claim on viewers for the upcoming summer movie season is for new director Rupert Sanders' Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron.
In this retelling of the Snow White fairy tale (titular role played by Stewart), the nameless Huntsman (Hemsworth) follows the girl into the woods to kill her by command of the evil queen (Theron), but turns on the queen and sets out to help Snow White instead.
Snow White and the Huntsman isn't your typical fairy tale reproduction, however. Stewart's Snow White, far from a damsel in distress, escapes the queen's evil grasp on her own in order to train in the art of war with the Huntsman and lead the people of the land in a battle against Theron's evil despot herself.
Universal has released an extended five-minute trailer for the film, which hits theaters on June 1, on XfinityTV. You can also see the theatrical trailer here:
