Sam Asghari will be missing out on a $1 million payday after a loophole was discovered in Britney Spears’ prenup.

According to the prenuptial agreement, Asghari would receive $1 million for every two years the couple were married in the event of a divorce. The two are ending their marriage at 14 months, just ten months shy for Asghari.

Although Asghari will not receive any spousal support, it is possible that Spears will write him a check to make sure the divorce does not drag on and to stop him from sharing anything embarrassing with the public about their marriage.

Asgahri also broke his silence about the news by releasing a statement on his Instagram story.

“After six years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Shit happens. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.”

Spears has not spoken publicly about the divorce but has shared several odd Instagram posts, including a throwback picture of her horseback riding while she was on vacation with Asghari where she spoke about purchasing a horse.

“Buying a horse soon 🐴!!! So many options it’s kinda hard !! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar 🐎 ???,” she commented. “I can’t make up my mind 🙈 !!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on 😜 ??? Either way, I think I found my sweet spot with Roar 😘 !!”

In addition to this, Spears posted two more pictures of artwork she was admiring writing, “Sometimes you see more with your eyes closed 🙈!!!”

Reportedly, the divorce comes after a blowout fight the former couple had when Asghari reportedly confronted Spears about cheating allegations.

Asghari formally filed for divorce on Wednesday stating “irreconcilable differences” as the reason. He is requesting financial support and that she pay for his divorce lawyers.
