The popular show, which in the past has featured stars like Apolo Anton Ohno, Drew Lachey, Tom DeLay and Kim Kardashian, relies on an American Idol top system combining the votes of viewers and judges to determine who will stay and who will go.
As announced Tuesday, this season of Dancing With The Stars will feature singer Michael Bolton, comedian Margaret Cho, NBA forward Rick Fox, Dirty Dancing actress Jennifer Grey, Baywatch star David Hasselhoff, Brady Bunch mother Shirley Henderson, Disney star Kyle Massey, Grammy winner Brandy, Hills star Audrina, Jersey Shore’s The Situation, NFL quarterback Kurt Warner and Sarah Palin’s formerly and famously pregnant daughter, Bristol Palin.
Pairs were announced on Wednesday. Bristol Palin will be paired with Mark Ballas, Audrina with Tony Dovolani, The Situation with Karina Smirnoff, Michael Bolton with Chelsie Hightower, Brandy with Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Margaret Cho with Louis Van Amstel. Also paired are Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke, Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough, David Hasselhoff and Kym Johnson, Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas, Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer and Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya.
Las Vegas odds place Rick Fox to be the favorite to win it all this season, with Jennifer Grey and David Hasselhoff running close behind. Unfortunately for The Situation, practice will have to begin a little late, as he’ll be wrapping up the latest season of Jersey Shore, where he became infamous for his sculpted abs and one-off witticisms.
The latest season of Dancing With The Stars will begin September 20th. But some stars you won’t see on this season of DWTS are Sylvester Stallone, Ann Coulter, Suzanne Somers and Mark Zuckerberg — all rumored to have been approached by the show’s producers. —AMY LEE
