Barron Trump Selected By Florida GOP As Delegate For The Republican National Convention

Barron Trump, 18, the youngest child of former President Donald Trump, has been selected by the Florida Republican Party as an at-large delegate for the state at the Republican National Convention.

According to Florida GOP chair Evan Power, Barron will join three of his other siblings, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump, among the 41 at-large delegates from Florida who have been selected.

Steve Witkoff, a luxury real estate developer and a longtime friend of the former president, was also selected as a delegate.

The other delegates include Kimberly Guilfoyle, Trump Jr.’s fiancée; Michael Boulos, Tiffany’s husband; former state Attorney General Pam Bondi, who ran pro-Trump super PACs; and many state-level Republican politicians who took the risk of endorsing Trump over Ron DeSantis.

Barron has mostly stayed out of politics and is graduating from high school next week.

“We are fortunate to have a great group of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family working together as part of the Florida delegation to the 2024 Republican National Convention,” Power said in an emailed statement.

The RNC will hold its convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in July.

Trump stated that he might announce his running mate during the RNC convention.

In early April, it was revealed that Barron’s first choice college was New York University, only a few miles from his family’s building, Trump Tower.

Previously, Trump and Barron’s mother, Melania Trump, mentioned they were looking at the University of Pennsylvania, the former president’s school, as one of the schools their son might attend.

On April 30, Judge Juan Merchan allowed Trump to miss a court date for his New York hush money trial in May so that he could attend Barron’s graduation ceremony, which will take place at Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida.

During the original court proceedings on April 15, the former president asked Merchan to adjourn the trial for Barron’s graduation. At the time, the judge had not ruled on this request due to time constraints, but he recognized that if the prosecution progressed as planned, it would likely be adjourned for a day to facilitate the accused’s attendance.
