Five months after her initial arrest, former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell’s eldest daughter, Chelsea, has finally received her sentence.

Chelsea, 27, was arrested three times in three months in the fall of 2024, starting on Sept. 10, when she was taken into custody on multiple felony charges, including child neglect and possession of methamphetamine. She posted bail and was released, only to be arrested again a month later for another series of felonies, including resisting and obstructing an officer, bail jumping and possession of methamphetamine. In November, she was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and bail jumping once again, along with possession of narcotic drugs.

She pleaded guilty to three charges in February, including resisting or obstructing an officer, felony bail jumping and possession of methamphetamine and appeared in court on March 31 alongside her lawyer. Though her misdemeanor charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of narcotic drugs were both dismissed, Chelsea was sentenced to six years’ probation – a two-year sentence for each of the guilty counts.

Her probation includes the restriction that she must maintain absolute sobriety, no possession of alcohol or another controlled substance without a valid prescription, no contact with any known drug users or sellers, and no possession or ownership of any firearm. She is also required to complete a full mental health evaluation and obtain her high school diploma or GED.

Chelsea’s criminal case is now closed.

Chelsea’s famous mother revealed earlier this month that she and her 12-year-old son had moved out of the country to avoid Donald Trump’s presidential term and have settled into a new life in Ireland.

Following Chelsea’s first two arrests in the fall of 2024, O’Donnell shared in a TikTok that legal trouble is “not new for our family” and thanked fans for their “kind words and wishes about Chelsea.”
