Just a week after promising to quit Twitter following a scandal, Roseanne Barr has caused a firestorm on the social media website yet again.
On Tuesday, Barr retweeted a negative remark about former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, the same woman the former star of Roseanne insulted in a racist tweet that led ABC to cancel the revival of her famous sitcom on May 29. The Roseanne reboot lasted just two months.
Barr, 65, had said on Twitter: “I’m making restitution for the pain I have caused.”
Shortly afterwards, she retweeted the post of another user (“Ghost of Bull Moose”) that said: “You didn’t cause any pain. Those people always hated you. Valerie Jarrett wants Israelis and Jews chased into the sea, and she’ll celebrate.”

Barr had originally tweeted that Jarrett, the Director of the Office of Public Engagement under Obama, was the baby of “the Muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes.” She apologized after receiving strong backlash, although she later blamed her use of Ambien for her actions. Barr also said in a separate tweet that she believed at one point that Jarret was “Saudi.”
Barr’s former husband Tom Arnold said in an interview last week that she had been “obviously racist,” as many people had claimed her to be, and added that she had mental health issues.
A prominent conservative and supporter of President Donald Trump, Barr said after the controversy that she would leave Twitter.

Sanofi, the makers of Ambien, said in a tweet that “racism is not a known side effect” of their product.
“I’ve done weird stuff while on ambien-cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc,” Barr said in a tweet.
