Tom Arnold, Roseanne Barrs ex-husband, said that she was “obviously” racist and told people working on the show to keep her phone away from her.

When asked on Good Morning Britain if he believes his ex-wife was a racist, he said, “Yeah, obviously.”

He then added, “I have to say, I saw it coming. I warned everybody. I’m talking to my step-daughter the whole time. ‘You’ve got to get her phone away from her.’ ‘Here’s a phone, she can tweet, but it goes to a different server, there’s time’… It was madness.”

Arnold shared that he was surprised about her tweets the past six months and the fact that she supports President Donald Trump. “Well, I base it on the last six months of her tweeting and social media since I heard that there was going to be a reboot. It turns out she’s a huge Donald Trump supporter, which we’ve known Donald Trump for 30 years and so that surprised me,” he said.

However, he also explained that her mental health also played a factor in this all, and that she even suffered mental illnesses when they were together. “She has had mental illness. When we were married, she dealt openly and honestly — our whole family did — with multiple personality disorder,” he said. “So I don’t know exactly what’s going on. I know there is mental illness issues.”

Arnold believes that Barr wanted the cancellation to happen and that is what cause in escalation in her tweets. “She wanted it to happen, if you saw how her tweets escalated this weekend. If it hadn’t happened yesterday, this season would have been so awful for everyone every day because she would have felt like she was [being] taken advantage [of], just like when I left the show,” he said.
