Witherspoon has been open about her desire to bring the hit HBO series back for a second season, but it has not been confirmed. “We’re hoping for maybe a second season,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s all about just making sure it’s just as good as season one.”

The first season wrapped up with Madeline (Witherspoon), Celeste (Kidman), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Renata (Dern), and Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz) coming together after Bonnie shoved serial abuser Perry (Alexander Skarsgård) to his death. While that ended in a satisfying way, details of the death were still being investigated at the season’s end, opening up the opportunity for a second season.

Could Witherspoon’s Insta post be an implied confirmation for season two, or just wishful thinking? Fans are already getting excited and gearing up for more Big Little Lies.
