Rapper Travis Scott Arrested in Miami On Intoxication & Trespassing Charges
On Wednesday night, rapper Travis Scott was arrested on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing, according to Miami-Dade County police.
Scott, 33, whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was booked at 4:35 a.m. local time. He posted bonds of $500 for trespassing and $150 for disorderly intoxication.
Law enforcement arrived at the Miami Beach Marina around 1:44 a.m. in response to a disturbance. Upon arrival, they encountered Scott, who was allegedly shouting at people aboard a boat. Police asked Scott to take a seat, which he did momentarily before standing up multiple times, disregarding the officers’ instructions. According to the official arrest report, police noticed Scott’s breath had smelled of alcohol.
Police described the incident as a loud party and stated that there was no physical altercation. Scott was released on bail shortly after and has returned home.
The Grammy-nominated artist, known for hits like “Sicko Mode” and “Type S—,” has achieved significant success in the music industry with three consecutive No. 1 solo albums and four No. 1 singles.
Scott has also made headlines for his personal life, including his relationship with reality TV star Kylie Jenner, with whom he shares two children.
This incident comes as Scott continues to navigate the aftermath of a tragic event at his 2021 Astroworld Festival in Houston, where a crowd surge resulted in 10 fatalities. In a November 2023 interview with GQ magazine, Scott described the incident as “overly devastating” and spoke about the challenges of returning to music in its wake.
“That moment for families, for the city, you know, it was devastating,” Scott said. He added that getting back into music production months after the tragedy served as a form of therapy, allowing him to channel his emotions into his work.
As of now, it remains unclear how this arrest might impact Scott’s career or ongoing legal matters related to the Astroworld incident.
Last year, Scott was investigated for allegedly assaulting a sound engineer at a nightclub.
