A Rolling Stone article was recently released with details on the behavior of nonbinary Queer Eye star Jonathan van Ness and his anger issues while on set.

The piece covered his behavior while filming with a source that called him “emotionally abusive” and a “monster” with “rage issues.” After the release of this article, fans of the show flooded the comments saying how upset it made them.

These fans took to Van Ness’ Instagram page with comments like, “I really hope the Rolling Stone article I just read has no truth to it.”

Additionally, one fan wrote, “You have always been a positive force in social media and someone who brings people up, especially those of us who are down. It would kind of suck if that was all just a facade.”

Van Ness has yet to comment on the backlash.

According to behind-the-scenes sources at Queer Eye, Van Ness has an alleged dark side that comes out when the camera is off. He reportedly made the Netflix original much harder to film than it had to be due to his behavior on set.

The source stated that Van Ness engaged in “petty disputes and competition” with other members of the cast while filming.

Queer Eye premiered on Netflix in 2018 and starred Van Ness alongside Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, and Bobby Berk.

In 2019, Van Ness came out as HIV positive.
