Prince Harry and Meghan Markle came together at the Invictus Games to show the world that all is well between them after reports of a strain in their marriage.

The Invictus Games, launched by Harry in 2014, commenced on September 9 but didn’t see Meghan until three days later. During her speech at Invictus, she apologized and explained that she had to take care of her and Harry’s children, Archie Harrison, 4, and Lilibet Diana, 2, before flying over to Dusseldorf, Germany.

“It is so special to be here, and I’m sorry that I was a little late to the party,” Meghan said. “Just like so many of you, this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus created… so I just had to spend a little bit more time at home getting our little ones settled, getting milkshakes, doing school drop off, and then I landed a couple of hours ago.”

“I’m thrilled that the first event I’ve been to for Invictus is here with all of you,” she added.

Strengthening their presentation as a happy family, Meghan and Harry gave the audience at the Invictus Games on Wednesday full public displays of affection.

Photos of the couple show Meghan smiling as Harry whispered in her ear. Another picture shows Harry with his arm around his wife as he leaned closer to speak with her. The loving couple were as happy as can be at the event as the only non-smiling pictures of the pair appeared to be reactions to the gameplay.

Harry’s joyfulness displayed at the Invictus Games starkly contrasts his appearance at a Beyonce concert he attended with Markle and his mother-in-law earlier this month, as he was spotted looking bored.

The PDA-filled event was the first time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex publicly attended an official event together since their last event in New York City when Meghan was named a “Woman of Vision” By Gloria Steinem‘s Ms. Foundation. On the same night, she and Harry claimed to have been involved in a paparazzi car chase.
