Kourtney Kardashian shared on Instagram that she recently underwent an urgent fetal surgery that saved her unborn son’s life. 

On Wednesday, Kardashian posted a black and white photo of herself and her husband, Travis Barker, holding hands while she lay in bed. The reality star stated, “I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life.” 

She continued to thank Barker and her mom, Kris Jenner, for supporting her, “I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.” 

Kardashian explained to fans how terrifying the situation was as she had never experienced this before, leaving her unprepared for the event, “As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear.”

She ended her statement by explaining her newfound respect for other mothers who have suffered through a similar ordeal.

“I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant,” she said. “Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing. 🙏🏼🤍” 

Barker similarly shared his own statement on X, writing, “God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support.” He additionally announced that the “tour resumes Friday.”

Kardashian commented on the post, “Praise be to God.”

This is the first child Barker and Kardashian are expecting together. Kardashian has three children, Reign Aston, Mason Dash and Penelope Scotland, with Scott Disick. Barker additionally has three kids, Landon, Alabama and stepdaughter Atiana, with Shanna Moakler

Blink-182, the band Barker drums for, first suggested that there was an issue last Friday through X when they notified the public that part of the tour would be postponed stating, “Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States. The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.” 

A few hours before this post, Barker posted photos that featured a “prayer room” at an airport.
