Hip hop artists Nicki Minaj and Nas posted matching Instagram photos, sparking rumors the two are dating.
Minaj, 34, and Nas, 43, looked cozy in the photo taken of them at dinner at Sweet Chick Life in New York on Tuesday. “Only KINGS recognize QUEENS,” Minaj wrote alongside the pic. “@sweetchicklife has the best food ? congrats @nas ?.”
Nas, for his part, re-grammed the photo, writing, “Straight Outta Queens!” Both artists hail from the New York City borough. Fans are now speculating if the posts mean the pair are an item, are collaborating on new music, or are just hanging out as friends.
Nas was featured on Minaj’s 2012 single “Right By My Side,” and even kissed in the music video. Both have said they’re working on new albums. Nas revealed his album will drop later this year, while Minaj has been more vague about the release date of her fourth album.
She did, though, debut three new songs last month, and has been featured on tracks from Gucci Mane, Future, and David Guetta. Interestingly, Minaj mentioned Nas in her verse on Mane’s song “Make Love.” “I rep Queens where they listen to a bunch of Nas,” she says.
Minaj split from Meek Mill in January, while Nas has been secretive about his relationships since his divorce from ex-wife Kelis in 2010. “No one’s exempt from people probing into your life once you get into the game,” he said in 2012. “[The divorce] put a lot of my business out there, man. People weren’t thinking I was making that kind of money, and now they knew. Love is a beast. Hold on, be prepared for any way it may go, and be honest.”
