ABBA To Release New Music This Year
Fans of classic ’70’s pop might have something to look forward to in the near future – ABBA is planning on releasing new music in 2020. This will be the first music the band has released in over three decades – the last song they released was “Thank You for the Music” in 1983. The Swedish band reunited back in 2018 and had put out a statement that they were working on two new songs. The songs were called, “I Still Have Faith in You,” and “Don’t Shut Me Down.” They also announced that a television special about the band was in the works. Despite initial excitement, these creative projects have yet to materialize. However, in a recent interview, Benny Andersson, a founding member of the band, said of the new songs, “They’re coming.”
Andersson stated that, although he cannot entirely be sure, he believes that the long-awaited new material will come out sometime this year, after the summer. When asked if he could promise a date for the release of the new songs, he said that, “One shouldn’t promise anything, but if I were to decide myself, it would be September.”
ABBA is not on tour as of yet, but if you just cannot wait for the real deal, there are a number of tribute bands and shows across the United States. Tickets for various ABBA tribute bands are listed below.
