Fans of classic ’70’s pop might have something to look forward to in the near future – ABBA is planning on releasing new music in 2020. This will be the first music the band has released in over three decades the last song they released was “Thank You for the Music” in 1983. The Swedish band reunited back in 2018 and had put out a statement that they were working on two new songs. The songs were called, “I Still Have Faith in You,” and “Don’t Shut Me Down.” They also announced that a television special about the band was in the works. Despite initial excitement, these creative projects have yet to materialize. However, in a recent interview, Benny Andersson, a founding member of the band, said of the new songs, “They’re coming.”

Andersson stated that, although he cannot entirely be sure, he believes that the long-awaited new material will come out sometime this year, after the summer. When asked if he could promise a date for the release of the new songs, he said that, “One shouldn’t promise anything, but if I were to decide myself, it would be September.”

ABBA is not on tour as of yet, but if you just cannot wait for the real deal, there are a number of tribute bands and shows across the United States. Tickets for various ABBA tribute bands are listed below.
