New York City is paying tribute to late singer and songwriter David Bowie with limited edition MetroCards.
The cards were created by Spotify and have images of Bowie’s iconic looks. According to the MTA, they printed 250,000 in total, and they can be purchased at Bleecker Street and Broadway-Lafayette stations. There are five versions of the card and cost $6.50 per card because they have a two ride minimum.
The release of the cards coincided with the “David Bowie Is” exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum. Ads for the show have been prominently displayed.
