New ‘Spider-Man’ Movie Title Revealed

After a year of no new Marvel content, the is company is making up for lost time in 2021.

On Wednesday, Spider-Man stars Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon revealed the title of the third movie in the franchise with a video of Holland walking out of director Jon Watts’ office with news that Watts will not tell Holland the name of the film. The three actors bickered over why and joked that Holland had a history of not keeping secrets (he has slipped up and shared Marvel news he wasn’t supposed to tell in the past). The camera eventually pans over to a white board with the title, Spider-Man: No Way Home, with a Christmas release date written on it.

Fans questioned the authenticity of this reveal after Holland, Zendaya and Batalon teased fans on their Instagram accounts the day before with sneak peek photos from the film and three fake titles of Spider-Man: Phone Home, Spider-Man: Home Slice and Spider-Man: Homewrecker. The real title was confirmed shortly after the release of the announcement video.

Holland, Zendaya and Batalon will be joined by Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange as rumors surround that the film will explore the idea of the multiverse. Alfred Molina will reprise his role as Doctor Octopus from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man films. Jamie Foxx will also appear in the film as Electro, the villain he played opposite Andrew Garfield in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Marvel fans do not need to wait until December to watch their favorite superheroes on the small and big screens. A year after its original release date, Black Widow will be in theaters May 7 and fans can also expect to sit in theaters to watch the Eternals, out November 5. In the meantime, Marvel has multiple T.V. series that can be streamed later this year on Disney+. Their first series, WandaVision, will conclude March 5.
