T.I. Will Not Appear in ‘Ant Man 3’ After Abuse Allegations Come Out Against Him

Rapper T.I. will not appear in the third installment of Marvel’s Ant Man franchise, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

In the last two movies, the actor, who’s real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., played Dave, a friend to Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang/Ant-Man. It is unclear if T.I.’s absence from the next movie is directly related to abuse allegations that recently came out against him and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris.

On Monday, attorney, Tyrone A. Blackburn, held a video conference with reporters to address the accusations multiple women are making against T.I. and Harris. Blackburn said he requested authorities in California and Florida to open investigations for 11 alleged victims. He said he has already been contacted by more than 30 people for various matters related to the allegations.

The allegations being made against the couple include sexual abuse, forced ingestion of illegal narcotics, kidnapping, false imprisonment, intimidation, assault and harassment. He said the alleged incidents occurred between 2005 and 2018.

“They all have various reasons why they took so long to come out,” Blackburn said. “One of the reasons is that they did not think anyone would believe them.”

In response to the allegations, T.I. and Harris released a statement through their attorney Steve Sadow.

“Clifford (T.I.) and Tameka Harris deny in the strongest possible terms these unsubstantiated and baseless allegations. We are confident that if these claims are thoroughly and fairly investigated, no charges will be forthcoming,” read the statement. “These allegations are nothing more than the continuation of a sordid shakedown campaign that began on social media. The Harrises implore everyone not to be taken in by these obvious attempts to manipulate the press and misuse the justice system.”

Allegations first came to light when the couple’s former friend, Sabrina Peterson, posted on Instagram that T.I. had put a gun to her head. She said she did not report the alleged incident.

VH1 halted production of the reality show T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle last month after these allegations were made.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania does not have a set release date yet, but is expected to premiere in 2022.
