Singer Michael Bublé canceled his upcoming performance at the BBC Music Awards on Dec. 12 following a cancer diagnosis for his 3-year-old son.
The BBC announced Bublé’s decision on Tuesday, just days after the singer revealed his son Noah Bublé’s ailment. “We send Michael and his family our very best wishes,” said BBC Music director Bob Shennan.
Bublé and his wife, Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato, who wed in 2011, released a statement on Facebook about their son’s diagnosis and their decision to take time away from work to care for Noah and his treatment. They also have a 9-month-old son, Elias.
Bublé has two more award show appearances on his calendar right now – the Brit Awards in London on Feb. 22 and the Juno Awards in Canada on April 2 – and the singer has not yet made any announcements about those performances.
