President Donald Trump’s itinerary for his upcoming visit to the U.K. has made the rounds on social media, but Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, seems to be sitting out on any arrangements made by the Royal Family to welcome Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
The First Family’s visit to the U.K. will begin on June 3 with a ceremonial welcome hosted by Queen Elizabeth at the Buckingham Palace.
50 CELEBRITIES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW
Markle, who recently welcomed her first son with Prince Harry, has called Trump “misogynistic” and “divisive” in the past and it seems that she’s maintaining her stance on her home country’s current leader. In addition, Markle is the first royal member of American descent so Trump’s policies quite literally hit home and may be reason enough for her to not take part in the festivities.
Because of this, some Twitter users have jumped to her support.
It remains unclear whether Markle’s decision to sit out was due to scheduling conflicts or because of personal discontent with Trump, but one thing’s for sure, the Royal Family’s First American princess will not be meeting America’s First Family.
