Massive 13-Foot Great White Shark Washes Ashore In Australia, Terrifying Beachgoers

At Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club, located on Australia’s New South Wales coast, locals were shocked to see a 13-foot shark fighting for its life, making a huge splash. 

Nearby surfers paddled ashore fast and crowds started to gather instantly to see the massive Great White close-up. Locals called SeaWorld specialists to analyze the scene. 

“Sadly, the shark was in a poor condition after beaching and the SeaWorld veterinary team administered drugs to make it comfortable before it passed away,” the statement from SeaWorld states

The beaching is not typical behavior for Great White sharks. “The shark appeared to have underlying health issues with the thrashing behavior seen in the shallows prior to the beaching not normal for the species,” the statement read.

Experts hypothesized that the shark may have been suffering from the ingestion of a foreign object or an underlying disease. 

This is the seventh sighting of a Great White in the Kingscliff area this year, but this is the closest encounter locals have had with a Great White of this size.

Great Whites were in the news earlier this month when a viral video showed one of the species caught in a shark cage and trashing itself to death.
