Lindsay Lohan announced her engagement to Bader Shammas on Instagram on Sunday.

In the post, which has more than 800,000 likes, the couple cuddles together while Lohan shows off her ring.

“My love. My life. My family. My future. @bader.shammas #love 💍,” the 35-year-old actress wrote in the caption.

Lohan, who is best known for playing a set of identical twins in The Parent Trap and Cady Heron in Mean Girls, began dating Shammas two years ago, after meeting in Dubai. According to his LinkedIn profile, Shammas works as an assistant vice president at Credit Suisse. Shammas is seemingly a very private person, with a private Instagram account and a LinkedIn page with no profile picture. According to a 2019 interview with Howard Stern, Shammas is exactly the type of person Lohan wanted to be with.

“I want to date a guy that’s a businessman — doesn’t have Instagram, doesn’t have social media, and is completely off the grid in terms of that kind of stuff,” she told Stern. “I think it will happen when it’s meant to happen.”

Lohan has had a handful of public relationships, especially earlier in her career. In 2004, she dated fellow actor Wilmer Valderrama and in 2008 she dated DJ Samantha Ronson. More recently, in 2016, she was engaged to Russian businessman Egor Tarabasov, but they broke it off a year later.

She recently lost a lawsuit against the maker of the video game Grand Theft Auto.
