Wayne Brady officially came out as pansexual on Monday.

“I am pansexual,” Brady, who is currently the host of CBS’s TV show Let’s Make A Deal, told People magazine in an interview. He added, “Bisexual – with an open mind!”

Brady first shared his news with his ex-wife Mandie Taketa, who was glad for him. She told the magazine that his coming out would allow him to be happier.

In light of this news, Brady has said he is excited to see what he will do next in life and that he has done research about being pansexual, which means that he does not base his attraction to people on their sex or gender.

“So, I came to pansexual because — and I know that I’m completely messing up the dictionary meaning — but to me, pan means being able to be attracted to anyone who identifies as gay, straight, bi, transsexual or non-binary,” he added. “Being able to be attracted across the board.”

He shared that after struggling with his sexual identity for years, attending therapy sessions, and putting his focus on his mental health has helped him the most in figuring out who he is. He reportedly was in therapy for his love addiction.

He has openly spoken about mental health on his Instagram posting a video about it on Monday.

“I advocate mental health for all and a part of that is self-transparency,” he said. “In doing my work, I’ve come to see a few truths, one of them being that I want to be free to love whomever I want. This truth makes me Pan and part of the Igbtq+ family.”

Brady also commented that he will concentrate on being a good dad to his daughter Maile Masako Brady, who he shares with Taketa. He is still single at the moment but said, “I can be the best friend to Mandie, the best son to my mother, and one day, the best partner to someone because I’m doing this for me.”
