Lana Del Rey changed the lyrics to her song “Chemtrails Over the Country Club,” insinuating that she was still involved with her ex-boyfriend Sean Larkin when he got married.

Del Rey was performing at London’s BST Hyde Park when she threw shade at Larkin.

She altered the ending of the song from the original lyrics, “You’re born in December and I’m born in June (under the chemtrails over the country club, yeah).” Instead of ending the song there, she added, “He’s born in December and he got married when we were still together. Sometimes I wonder what his wife would think if she knew that I didn’t know anything. He’s born in December and I’m born in June. He’s born in December and he got married while we were in couple’s therapy together.”

Fans had already speculated that the song was about her ex as Larkin’s birthday is December 7.

The former couple dated for a few months from the fall of 2019 to March 2020. After they broke up Larkin stated that they were still friends who talked once in a while. In 2021, Del Rey asserted that the breakup was extremely difficult for her and that her heart was broken. She truly believed “it was the end of the world” at the time.

Larkin later married in January 2022 to Carey Cadieux, but the song implies that something was still going on between the two of them.

Del Rey released her album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd on Larkin’s birthday last year.
