In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the original writers Chris Matheson and Ed Soloman along with Reeves and Winter said he duo could be coming back in Bill & Ted: Face The Music. The third film would follow the message that Rufus (George Carlin) gave to the boys in the first movie, Excellent Adventure. Now their married, and it affects their marriages, and their relationships with their kids, and it affects their everything.”

“I think its like A Christmas Carol with Bill and Ted,” Soloman said. “Looking at their lives, and really kind of rediscovering what they’re about.”

The film has been in the developing stages for nearly a decade. “We are hoping to close a deal with some financiers,” writer Soloman said of the movie’s progress. “Hopefully in a month or so, we’ll have news that’ll stick.”
