Justin Long & Kate Bosworth Announce Engagement

Justin Long and his now fiancé Kate Bosworth have announced their engagement.

The couple has been dating since 2021, a year after they declared their relationship to the public. After two years of dating, they are now engaged.

On Tuesday’s episode of Long’s Life is Short podcast, Bosworth joined Long and his brother, Christian Long, to share the news of their engagement.

The couple admitted they wanted to reveal the news at Vanity Fair‘s Oscar Party, where they debuted as a couple, showing off the diamond. But they held off sharing the announcement because it meant so much to them.

Bosworth flaunting her ring on the carpet led to much speculation on their new relationship status. “We just decided that we were going to live our lives, and I’m going to wear the ring, and celebrate our love,” she shared.

Long, on the other hand, revealed that he was excited and wanted to propose sooner. “I did have a special thing planned around your birthday and about a month before that, like, we were talking about life, change and sometimes things happen without warning.”

He stated that at that moment, he felt a very deep connection, he knew things were changing and they were going through a difficult path, although it wasn’t easy, “the asking of it was easy, and it just kinda spilled out.”

The 40-year-old actress then recalls the therapist’s advice, “Make sure that you’re pretty consistently asking the other what you need, or asking the other what they need.”

The advice struck her, as she recalled waking up every morning after the session and asking Long what he needed. Long would reply with, “To spend my life with you.”

“It was the easiest. The words just came out, like, so naturally,” Long added.

“I thought it was just the most romantic, honest and loving proposal… ask to spend one’s life with one another,” Bosworth replied.
